First WACOMA Cohort Graduation

A message from the WACOMA EMJMD Coordinator

Dear Students,

It is a pleasure to meet all of you today. As you know, you were expected to graduate at the University of Bologna, but due to the pandemic we are celebrating your graduation online. We were thrilled to celebrate such a significant milestone in the University of Bologna history – the graduation of our first cohort of WACOMA EMJMD Master Degree Students.

Nevertheless, this hindrance shall by no means make such an important turning point in your life and future career less significant, extraordinary and memorable.

This very special moment comes after 2 years of training, lessons, laboratory experiments, field trips, internships and scientific research projects carried out at the 3 Partner Universities in 3 different countries, in the framework of the WACOMA Consortium whose international dimension contributed to enriching both the Academic and the social experience you are about to conclude.

You have been trained as managers and scientists for Water and Coastal Risk Management; you have acquired a unique, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary understanding in the vital, challenging and continuously evolving field of water and coastal ecosystems.

Together with the Institutional Coordinators of the University of Algarve, Prof. Alice Newton and of the University of Cadiz, Prof. Irene Laiz, we are grateful to the Professors and Teachers who shared with you their knowledge, and we wish all of you a successful career as Erasmus Mundus graduates!!
